Nine Month News...

Wow! I say it every month... but seriously.... where has the time gone? My baby is getting SO big. I love this current stage that we are in. She likes to play, and laugh, and cuddle, and play some more. Jeremy and I are having so much fun with Margo. We have all started to settle into our new house (pics to come, I promise!) and Smithfield is starting to feel more and more like home. Margo sure is loving the fact that she gets to see Grandma, Granddaddy, Nana, Pa, Mimi, Papa, and her great Granny's almost every week (and we all know they are loving it too!). Margo continues to amaze us on a daily basis with how much she is learning to do. She certainly keeps us on our toes! :)

At 9 Months Margo:
*Weighs         (      percentile)
*Is     inches long (      percentile)
*Attended her first ECU football game. GO PIRATES! 9/18/14
* Started sitting on her knees (it's the bees knees!). 9/15/14
* She isn't crawling on her knees just yet-BUT she sure can scoot on her bottom wherever she wants to go. 9/12/14
*Her favorite foods are mashed potatoes, green beans, peas, puffs, and noodles.
*She loves bath-time, books, and being tickled.
* Nicknames: Miss Priss and Love Bug.
* And guess what everyone... Baby Margo slept in her OWN bed for the first time on 9/26/14. This is HUGE for Margo and Mama! :)

Can't wait to see how much our sweet girl will grow in the next 9 months. Wait... actually I can. Time needs to S-L-O-W D-O-W-N!

Margo is 8 months old... say what?!?!

Many big things have happened during our sweet girls eighth month. The most exciting thing was that we moved into our new house. Margo also started her new "school"- Johnston Memorial Early Learning Center. We miss Ms. Christie and Ms. Rachel and all of our friends at Trinity Christian, but I know that Margo will grow to love her new teachers just as much. On our first day in her new home Miss Priss started pulling up in her crib. She is growing into such a sweet and beautiful baby girl.

She loves to wave "hello" and "bye-bye" and said her first word on 8/24/14. One guess what it was... "DaDa" of course!! We are still working on "MaMa." She is comando crawling all over her new house. She loves to explore her surroundings. She is also becoming a little social butterfly. She will wave at little children that we see out in public and loves to talk on her little cell phone. This month brought many firsts! She attended her first NCSU football game this month and went swimming in Aunt LaLa's pool for the first time this month too!

Margo also got two new teeth this month. Her third tooth came in on 8/25/14 and her 4th tooth popped up on 9/5/14. It is so cute to see her with her little teeth. Now that she has four teeth, she is starting to eat more big girl foods such as veggie lasagna, green beans, yogurt, mashed potatoes, sweet potato, and whole grain bread.

I could not imagine my life without Margo. It is amazing how much parenthood can change you. She is our little sunshine. Jeremy and I love her so much.

Enjoy pictures of our sweet girl during her EIGHTH month!

7 months of Fun!

Miss Priss is seven months old. Wow. She is growing like a little weed and learning so many new things along the way. She has two bottom teeth now and it looks like her two top teeth will make an appearance any day. She is sitting up unassisted and loves to play with blocks and anything that makes lots of noise!! We have even moved on to solids and sippy cups. Our sweet little angel is just growing WAY to fast.

At 7 months Margo:
**Is wearing size nine month clothing.
**Can sit up unassisted.
**Is eating solids and drinking a small amount of water from a sippy cup.
**LOVES her puffs.
**This month her menu consisted of- green beans (7/4/14), Bananas (6/28/14), Sweet Potatoes (6/25/14), apples (7/4/14), pears (7/2/14)
**Her first tooth came in on 6/24/14 and her secod tooth followed shortly after that on 7/7/14.
**She loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the mornings while Mommy and Daddy are getting ready for work.
**She enjoys playing with her toys but always wants someone close by to hang out with her.
**Enjoys our nightly walks around the neighborhood.
**Is saying sounds such as dadadadadada, ohohohoh, uhuhuhuhuhu, and babababababa. No mamamama just yet.
**Rolls everywhere! And... she is starting to scoot around on her belly.
**Is the apple of her Mommy and Daddy's eye!

So fresh and so clean!

Hey Margo!

I can't resist a picture of a sleeping baby!

Can you tell she loves her high chair?

Say What?!?!

Daddy is trying to make her grow up too fast!

Margo had a blow out with Daddy! No passing the poo in our house!

Margo's mommy and daddy!

Love her smile!

This was actually her at 6 months! But I didn't have it to include in that post so I added it to this one. :)
Another one in the high chair! She is just too cute. I couldn't not put it on the blog!

Enjoy these outtakes from her 7 month photo shoot! :)

An update on our little "project" home!

Jeremy and I bought our first home seven years ago. We both saw the potential this small 1950's ranch possessed. Unfortunately, I truly believe that we were the ONLY ones who saw the potential this baby had. I recall a few "what in world were you thinking" looks the day we brought our parents over to check out our new digs! However, over the course of our time here, we have truly made this little "project" house our home. This home is a true reflection of our style and it has become the birth place of many special memories that J and I will always hold near and dear to our hearts. We got married while living here, anticipated the birth of our daughter in this home, and it's where we brought our sweet baby girl home from the hospital. Not to mention graduation from graduate school, our first "real" jobs, and many fun times that we shared with family and friends within the walls of this house. There have been moments where we questioned our sanity as we checked items off of our to-do list- but mostly the work we have done on this house has been a labor of absolute love. To say we are proud of how it turned out would be an understatement. However, all good things must come to an end.

In January, Jeremy received a new position within BB&T that is based out of Raleigh. While this is certainly a drivable distance, we knew that making that commute everyday would be taxing on J and would take away time that he was able to spend with Margo. It was tough but we made the decision to relocate- which means that we will be moving out of our little "project" house at the end of July. This is a bittersweet moment for our family. It is hard to leave our home and our friends behind, but our move will put us closer to both of our families. We know that in the long run this is what is best for J, Margo, and myself.

This isn't "goodbye" but more of an "I'll see you later" as we have decided to keep this home as an investment property based on it's close proximity to ECU. It makes my heart happy to know that I will be able to stop by and say hello to an old "friend" from time to time. After all, aren't our homes our best of friends?

Many of you followed along with us as we transformed this home into what it is today. Towards the end of our renovation journey I slacked off on posting pictures to this blog. Below is how our home looks today! :)

Front of home. We replaced all of the windows, both exterior doors, added the landscaping, and replaced the roof.

Back of home. We added the nice new deck and replaced the glass doors leading onto the deck.

Living Room. In here, we changed out the fixture and had the hardwoods refinished.

Another look at the Living Room. I LOVE that mantel. It is one of my favorite things about this home.

Kitchen. This was a total gut. New cabinets, floors, counter-tops. EVERYTHING in this room is new. This was definitely the longest project- but, it was SO worth it. Check out what our kitchen looked like before here.

Dining Area.
Den. This room looked much different before we started working in here. It was basically a blank canvas with white walls and white linoleum flooring. WE painted the brick (it was a carport before it was a blank canvas), added carpeting and a little paint. It was a very cozy little den!

Hall Bath. This room was another complete gut. I love how it turned out. Modern, but still kept the look of the era of the home.

Office.

Margo's Room. My favorite room in the house. :)

Master Bedroom. Wish I would have chosen another angle that didn't include the side of the armior.

Another view of the master bedroom.

Master Bath. This was nicely decorated in yellow and turquoise tile before we got a hold of it. Much better!

We are HALF WAY to one!

Mommy is not too sure how she feels about that. This has surely been the most exciting six months of my life! Margo continues to grow and grow. She loves to play with her toys on her play mat and is becoming very interested in her puppies, Gracie and Izzy. Gracie loves Margo, but Izzy is still our little scaredy cat and keeps her distance. Margo is learning new things everyday and is so much fun. Jeremy and I are learning a few things along the way too!

At six months Margo:
*Weighs 18lbs 15oz (91st percentile)
*Is 26.5 inches long
*Wears 9m and some 12 month clothing. She certainly did not stay in six months clothes long at all!
*Tried rice cereal for the first time on 5/21/14. She loved it and now has it twice per day- morning and night.
*Can sit up with some help from her friends. She started to "tripod" on 6/1/14.
*Has graduated from the sleep sack and now only sleeps in her footed pj's. Such a big girl!
*Speaking of sleep- Margo first slept on her stomach on 5/20/14. She just about gave me a heart attack! But the dr. said that was a o.k. so we have continued to let her sleep that way (she always starts off on her back and rolls to her belly). She looks so grown sleeping on her belly with her little booty up in the air!
*Loves to say "dadadadada", "gagagaga," and "bababababa." Mommy is still waiting on her to say "MAMA!" We are working on it, but aren't quite there yet.
*Rolls where ever she wants to go.She has also started to kick her legs in an attempt to crawl. I am sure that isn't too far away. Time to baby proof the house!
*Her favorite toy is her bunny rattle that Nana and Pa gave her for Easter. She also loves Sophie and her Baby Einstein piano.
Playing in her crib!
My loves!

And we have a belly sleeper! Yes, she is still in her pack and play! She would do great in her but mommy isn't ready for that just yet. I know i need to get with the program!
I can't resist pics of my sweet girl sleeping.

Girls just want to have fun!
