FOUR Fabulous Months

I just can't believe it! My girl is FOUR months old as of Thursday, April 10th, 2014. I thank GOD everyday for blessing Jeremy and I with Margo. Each day we love her more than the day before. Being a mother to Margo has become my "most important work." I just pray everyday that I am a good role model for her and that I am able to help instill in her self-confidence, self-respect, and am able to empower her to dream big! This month, Margo continues to develop her own sweet little personality and become quite the Daddy's girl. To say that she has him wrapped around her little finger would certainly be an understatement. Those two are a hoot together! She has started to follow us across the room and make eye contact with us. Margo is also making lots of different noises- which we find to be SO sweet! Jeremy and I love watching her grow, but certainly wish she would slow down just a little.  :)

At 4 Months Margo:
*Weighs 15 lbs 11oz (81st percentile)
*Is 25 inches long  (76th percentile)
*Is in 3 month clothing, but is beginning to wear some of her 6 month pieces and is wearing size 2 diapers.
*Has a new bedtime- 8:30pm.
*Continues to wake up at night. Usually around 1:30am and again at 5am.
*Is drinking 5oz bottles at daycare.
*Shared her first laugh with us on March 21st, 2014.
*Rolled from front to back on April 7th, 2014.
*Rolled from back to front on April 9th, 2014.
*Will now reach for her toys that are hanging above her head or sitting in front of her.
*Loves an exersaucer! She just reached the age to where she can sit in them. That is why we have so many pictures of her in. :)  She will play for about 10 minutes before wanting to get out.
*Has started screaming talking very loudly to get the attention of things around her.
*Loves to kick her little legs and pull Mommy's hair.
*Has some serious head control! :)

Easter Weekend

Our family enjoyed a lovely Easter weekend filled with fun times with family. On Saturday, we went to my mom's (aka Grandma's) church to partake in an Easter Egg Hunt and hotdog lunch. Margo hunted Easter eggs (with a little help from Mommy and Daddy) and I completed a cute little craft to help us remember her first Easter celebration. Nana and Pa also came to the Easter egg hunt to spend time with Margo.

Working on our Easter craft!

Posing for a quick picture before the hunt!

Saturday night, we stopped by to see my Dad, Step-mom and Granny. We had a fun little visit and Margo was able to love on her Granny Hobbs for little while.

On Sunday, we woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had come to visit Margo. He left her with lots of fun surprises. Her favorite was her bathing suit and sunglasses! She is now ready for beach weather. Once we checked out her basket, we headed back home to celebrate the real reason for this special holiday. We went to church with my mom, step-dad, and brothers. It was a lovely service. After church, everyone came over to Mom's and we all had a delicious lunch of Parker's BBQ. There is nothing like Parkers! WE also had quite a few yummy desserts. It was so nice to sit around and socialize with everyone. Jeremy's family also joined us for lunch so we did not feel rushed to head to our next destination and were able to enjoy Margo's first Easter (and of course take LOTS of pictures!).

A Wonderful Weekend

You guys! This past weekend was the most fun I have had in a really long time. We took Margo to her first social event of the season... Touch-A-Truck. The Junior Women's Association of Greenville hosts this event every year. This year it was better than ever!! It is so much fun to see all the children climb up and down the big trucks and equipment. There were loads of fire trucks, dump trucks, a big rig, excavators, the GPD mobile crime lab, bounce houses, face painting, and SO much more. If you have never been you really need to check it out! Of course, Margo is too young to play on the trucks or get her face painted, but she still had a blast strolling around the event and meeting many of Mommy's friends. The weather was perfect and all three of us had a blast.

That was just the start to our fabulous Saturday! Later that afternoon, the Weir's invited us over for a whole family playdate!! Margo was able to play with sweet baby James and Jeremy and I were able to spend time with friends. It was a much needed playdate for all us! We are looking forward to our Memorial Day Beach Weekend with them next month! Hopefully, I'll remember to snap a few pics of Margo and James playing on the beach! :)

Sunday was just as much fun as Saturday! Grandma and Grandpa came up to visit and go with us to the Daughters for Dad's Easter Egg Hunt. The proceeds from this event went to help pay medical bills for a local child who is battling a rare form of cancer. Again, Margo isn't quite big enough to actually hunt for eggs; however, she can have her picture taken with the Easter Bunny! :) It was also nice to see some of my former co-workers that I haven't seen in WAY to long. I sure do miss those wonderful WGP ladies. After we had our picture taken and socialized for a bit, we all went to lunch and enjoyed each others company.

Miss Priss was SO good throughout this busy weekend. She just completes my whole world! And her Daddy's too! We sure do love that little thing!

My next 30 years!

When I think of turning thirty two songs come to mind: 1. Jay Z's 30 Something (excuse the language, I tried to find the edited version) and 2. Tim McGraw's My Next Thirty Years.

It is hard to believe that I am THIRTY years old. It seems like just yesterday when I thought 30 was the epitome of being old. Ha! My how things change. As I look back on my first 30 years, I realized just how much I have accomplished. I actually managed to survive high school, graduated from college with a BS in Political Science, graduated again with my Masters degree, became a teacher, met my hubby, got engaged, married him, remodeled an entire home, left the classroom to take a position at ECU, and had a sweet baby girl. And that is just the big stuff!!! I've had quite a fulfilling first 30 years and I wouldn't do a single thing differently (well... maybe a few!).

Many people helped to celebrate this special occasion- it started with an awesomely decorated office. My co-workers got me good! :) They also treated me to a fabulous lunch at my favorite spot- Atavola!

At home, Jeremy and sweet Margo picked up my favorite dinner and had a few gifts for me (I love gifts!!). The most thoughtful gift was a beautiful orchid that Margo gave me for my office. I love how it reminds me of her when I look at it. :)

I was also treated to lunch by my mom and step-dad and to a delicious home-cooked meal of fried chicken and homemade biscuits by Dad and Debra. Jeremy's parents even joined us for a cook-out to celebrate the occasion. :)

Needless to say, it has been a wonderful celebration of the first 30 years of my life. I am excited about the endless possibilities of my next 30 years!
