It's Official!! Jeremy and I are hitched!

Warning: This post is super long and contains MANY pictures of wedding events & our honeymoon!
Proceed with caution!

I can't believe that Jeremy and I are FINALLY married! It is such a wonderful feeling to be a married woman! There are many reasons why it's so wonderful but I think my two favorite are a) I never again will have to look through a wedding magazine, stress over flowers, or do anything else that involves wedding planning (Whoo Hoo!) and b) I know that the person I love the most in the entire world will always be by my side. AWWW! ;)

To begin the wedding weekend, I hosted a bridesmaids luncheon at Daily Grind to say thank you to my wonderful bridesmaids. Afterwards, we headed to Merle Norman to relax and have our nails done! I am so blessed to have such awesome friends. Not only do they love me for exactly who I am (crazy woman and all!), they were super supportive during all phases of the wedding planning process (refer to my friend Kelly Mac's blog if you are curious about the different stages of wedding planning!). I love these girls so much and am thankful to have them as a part of my life!
Sweet little Krysta! She is such a ham! Love her!

Relaxing with a little cucumber water!
Love y'all!

The night before, Jeremy and I enjoyed a wonderful rehearsal dinner hosted by Jeremy's loving parents! The food was great and it was so nice to be able to spend time with our close friends and family before the craziness of a wedding fully set in. PS: A Special thank you to my wonderful friend Allison for taking these pics for us! Love you girl!

Our super handsome ring bearer, who also happens to be an awesome dancer! Love me some Storm!!!
Mrs. Donna setting us all straight!

Whew!! That was hard work. ;)

Awwww! Our last kiss as an engaged couple! Our next kiss will mark the beginning of our marriage!

It rained almost the entire day on July 10, 2010. However, God must have heard my many, many, many (can not stress this enough), many prayers because it stopped long enough for the chairs to be set up and the ceremony to take place. The rain began to pour down about ten minutes after everyone was inside! I've been told that rain on your wedding day is good luck and that the Italians believe that rain on your wedding day means that you will be a wealthy couple. :)

My married friends tried to warn me that the day would go by so fast. I did not believe them; however, I was wrong. The night flew by and before I knew it, it was time for Jeremy and I to say goodbye to our guests! Regardless, we both had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing everyone there to support us. I am so glad that many friends were able to capture great snapshots of the best night of our lives! Enjoy!

These pictures are so great! I can not wait to see the photographers photos!!

After the wedding, we headed straight to Raleigh to board our flight to the Dominican Republic. We decided to be troopers and forgo sleep in order to enjoy every second that we had in the DR. What a wonderful country! The people are super friendly, the food is amazing, and the water is crystal clear. Presidente beer is great! As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a big huge cold one. Jeremy even tried a little mamajuana (not sure if I spelled that correctly!) Mamajuana is a very strong Dominican drink. It is a mixture of honey, red wine, some type of strong liquor, and some root looking things. Apparently, it is so strong that they serve it in a shot class to be sipped. However, Jeremy found this out a little late! ;) He took it all in one big gulp. Needless to say, he didn't feel so well after that. We also went deep sea fishing on Thursday of our trip. Our boat was an old 36 foot fishing vessel. We did not see a single lift vest the entire time we were on board. This was rather disappointing as we apparently signed up for the Caribbean version of deadliest catch without knowing it. The seas were rather rough that day; in fact, the waves were 10 to 12 feet. Below you will see pictures of this adventure. If you look closely, you can see that the swells were higher than the boat. We did not catch any fish, but we had a pretty good time and it definitely makes for an awesome honeymoon story. We also we went snorkeling and got to see many neat fish and other types of ocean life. The rest of the honeymoon was spent relaxing by the pool, on the beach, or in our amazing room!    We had a great time on our honeymoon and did not want to leave. We are already planning a trip back to the DR soon.

This picture was taken upon our arrival to the airport! We came straight from our wedding with NO sleep. I think we had been up for 24 hours straight at this point.
Samuel had this romantic bath prepared for us after we spent a long day lounging by the pool and sunnin' on the beach. ;)
Preparing to do a little shopping at the local market! At this point, I was very excited!
The entrance to the market!

 The market itself!
The even sold free range meats! ;)

Toes in the sand, cold drink in my hand! Life was good that day! ;)
Stud-muffin!

The picture does not do this swell justice! It was huge! I was a little nervous at this point! Remember, we were only on a 36 foot boat!
Finally a little more calm as we start to head in! No fish that day! :( Maybe next time.
A fruity drink after our adventurous day!

Ahhh! The good life!

The Michael Jackson Show! Awesome!

MAMAJUANA
(click on the link for the history of this drink & how to make it!)
Before the "shot" of mamajuana. Jeremy looks a little concerned!
Right after he gulped it all down! Ewww, that stuff is tough!
About three minutes later! Jeremy can't handle the Mamajuana!

What we found at home! Thanks Jeffrey! We love you.
