Almost There....

Happy Halloween!

We are now on our sixth week of the kitchen remodel. That is 126 meals away from home and five pounds to my waistline.   The kitchen itself is looking FABULOUS! I can not wait to get in there and start putting up all of our new stuff. It looks so good that Jeremy and I are having a hard time staying out. Hopefully, it will be usable by this upcoming weekend. Jeremy and I are keeping our fingers crossed. Our appliances have come in and we were so eager to see what it looked like that we spent our weekend staging things. We slipped the stove in it's place and sat the sink and faucet up too! We are so excited about it almost being complete that we went ahead and picked out a new table! Hopefully, the floor will be installed and the plumber will come and complete his part this week. We aren't sure when the doors will be replaced, but keep your fingers crossed too that it will all be done soon!

This kitchen has seriously come a long way.

Progress!

The kitchen renovation is slowly coming together! We have cabinets and one slab of countertop. Our EDC is the first week in November. Living in disarray is getting old, but like I said before good things come to those who wait! :)

PROGRESS!
Yay! They are outta there!
The 1950's color scheme. Jeremy tried to talk me into going with a reincarnation of this! HAHA!
Cabinet delivery. So exciting!!
Cabinets!
My favorite part! I seriously need to get rid of some of that stuff on the fridge!
Love our counter-tops!

Next week, they will be busy with trim work, replacing a window and doors, installing the remaining counter-tops, and finishing up with the removal of the old flooring. Stayed tuned for scenes of our completed kitchen!

On another note: Please pray for my grandfather. He has been very sick over the past two weeks and was just recently diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

Good things come to those who wait.... and wait!

If you know me well enough, you have probably heard me complain about our Brady Bunch kitchen a time or two or ten. Most of you had probably given up hope that a remodel would ever REALLY happen. Well my dear friends, it's true! Good things come to those who wait. After three years of waiting, the kitchen renovation has begun.

HALLELUJAH!

We are currently in the demolition phase and I am loving every minute of it. A new kitchen is worth our trip to the laundry mat this past Sunday to wash clothes. It is worth having holes in your wall and a big ugly gray box (which only means that we now have switches instead old school fuses), and it is worth eating out every night! We can not wait to see the finished product or to have our first dinner party in a brand spankin' new kitchen. I have decided to blog about the progress and share our newest journey with you guys!

BEFORE: Brady Bunch Style
At one point, there were doors on these cabinets. Almost two years ago, we thought we could handle painting the cabinets. HA! Packing it all up to be sold at our yard sale! So ready to put all of our NEW stuff in our NEW cabinets.
1953 Original!

Can't beat a kitchen and laundry room in one!

PROGRESS!
September 29-October 6, 2010

Everything cleaned out!

Thank goodness that hideous fixture is GONE!!!!
Apparently, gingham wallpaper was in style at some point in the past 57 years.
New electrical box and the hole left by the old one (which will be fixed!!!). Will def. have to come up with something clever to hide that beast!
Move 'em out! Whoo Hoo! The start of no more gross cabinetry!

Yay for an actual laundry room!

Stay tuned for scenes of a brand new kitchen for the Davis'! :)

It's been awhile since I have updated this... so please accept this update in the form of pictures!
